Operator categories

The NASD market supports several participant categories.

  • Broker / Dealer

    SEC-licensed firms executing client orders and providing trading access to the NASD market.

  • Registrar

    Maintains the share register and supports corporate-action processing for admitted issuers.

  • Custodian

    Holds securities on behalf of investors and supports settlement and asset-servicing flows.

  • Issuing House

    Structures and manages admission and capital-raising transactions on behalf of issuers.

  • N-DSP Participant

    Specialist participant on the Digital Securities Platform — tokenisation, custody, or trading.

  • Other / Partner

    Service providers, market-data partners, or technology integrators serving NASD.
